PA-C, ABAAHP is the mother of two daughters. She has 3 very cute pound puppies and 2 loveable kitties. But the most fantastic thing of all is she has 2 amazing grandchildren.
She graduated from Campbell University Cum Laude. She furthered her education by attending Wake Forest University School of Medicine graduating in 1990. After graduation she started working in Adult and Primary care medicine.
She furthered her education in Functional Medicine by attending the American Academy of Functional and Metabolic Medicine earning a diplomat designation in 2012. At that point she felt she could really help patients reach their healthcare goals by reversing their diseases and help them realize a healthier happier life and changed the focus of her practice to a Wellness model.
During her career she has been a preceptor for medical and Allied health students, volunteered at the Care Clinic and is a sponsor of the Child Advocacy Center which supports abused children and their families. She volunteers yearly to promote Ryan's Reindeer Run, a nonprofit 5 K event raising money to fund research for childhood cancers and their families.
For the rest of her career she plans to concentrate on her Wellness program in her Total Approach practice in which she will help patients learn how to live a healthier lifestyle and identify the power and strength that lies within them to make that change.

“I still think that one of the pleasantest of all emotions is to know that I, I with my brain and my hands, I have nourished my beloved few, that I concocted a stew or a story, a rarity or a plain dish, to sustain them truly against the hungers of the world.”

I love food! But who doesn’t? In all honesty I couldn’t ask for a better job than to sit around and talk about food all day. So, I guess you would like to know just a little bit about me before I jump into my long explanation on my love affair with food! I have 3 amazing pups and of course behind every great woman is a great man, or is it the other way around? If you are curious, yes, I did go to school but not quite the path you would expect. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Textiles. I eventually went back to school at Campbell University to get my second bachelor’s in science. I then studied at Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a holistic health coach.
I will be starting my masters degree for psychology this fall. I am hoping to become more connected with the mind body experience with food and truly understanding the long history of mental connection to the things we feed our mind, bodies, and spirit. Wow you say, she is all over the place! It has been a long journey but I finally have found my calling. Oh, and hold on to your pants everyone I also am a yoga teacher, I studied at Blue Lotus in Raleigh, NC. So good thing we got me out of the way, lets get back to food!
No shocker that as humans our lives revolve around food. I truly believe that it is the cause of most diseases and the cure. I was very lucky to grow up in a household where food was taken seriously and made with the utmost care. I have spent more than half my life trying to figure out why as a society we have gone so far off from where we started, I mean food shouldn’t come in a package people! I do care very much about what I do, and I love teaching and talking with all our members. I hope I’m lucky enough to meet you and I’m so excited to help you on this journey to better health.
